Company Description: The company is one of the largest developers and suppliers of friction material products in the world. Their products can be found in wet clutch, wet brake, torque converter, differential, and synchronizer applications. The Crawfordsville plant has the capability to produce a wide range of friction materials including paper, graphitic, elastomeric, and sintered metal products. In addition to fabricating friction materials, the facility handles adhesive manufacture, bonding, finishing and steel plate processing in-house.

General scope of work: Provide technical leadership for customers which will mutually benefit the client and the customer. Develop solutions to customer problems relating to friction materials in order to retain current business and obtain approvals related to new opportunities. Enhance the technical reputation of the company through papers, presentations, conferences, and technical committee membership.

Education requirements: Master of Science or equivalent experience in the area of Mechanical, Industrial, or Chemical Engineering related to the technical specifics associated with the application of wet-friction materials plus a minimum of 4 years of experience with the manufacture of friction materials.

Skills required: A minimum of 3 years of experience and interactions with the customers will be required to obtain the required knowledge of design/test philosophy and understanding of individual applications as well as experience with the development and commercialization of new products.
