Description: The client company is in the
business of helping customers develop, prototype,
and manufacture medical devices. They work with medical
consultants, industrial designers, and OEM manufacturers
to bring products into manufacturing practice by using
the collective resources of the company, and a bank
of highly qualified suppliers. Offering accredited
A2LA Laboratory and Certified UL Test Agency services
through the Technical Center allows them to go well
beyond the limits of other contract manufacturers.
General
scope of work: This position reporting to
the EVP of Sales/Marketing/R & D, will develop
strategic customer targets within served industrial
markets (in conjunction with input and collaboration
from the client experience team, which includes Business
Strategy & Development, Marketing, R&D, etc.).
The Director of Global Sales leads all sales development
efforts for his or her staff for penetration strategy
and tactics, and assures his or her team is timely
in pursuit of new customer contacts. In addition,
the Director of Global Sales leads all "shepherding"
activities for his or her staff to protect and grow
"share of customer" for existing clients.
Directs "hunting" resource allocation and
budgets to achieve goal of doubling company sales
within the next 3 years along with securing 25% of
total sales from international markets. Defines the
"customer selling process" and develops
strategies to shorten sales cycle. Coordinates development
of sales objectives, strategies, promotional programs,
etc. to ensure sales strategy execution. Gathers new
product ideas and evaluates their potential. Provides
management with information used to evaluate national
opportunities. Regularly visits key global or major
markets to investigate operations, threats, opportunities,
and local conditions.
Education
requirements: BS degree or higher or equivalent
relevant experience.
Skills
required: A minimum of 10 years experience.
Increase knowledge of our markets, clients company,
and competitor's company and capabilities, including
staff and strategic intentions, etc., to support the
development of pursuit strategies. The goal is to
increase the vision and understanding to create business
leverage. Track global customer development initiatives.
Plan proposal strategy, tactics, schedule, and provide
feedback on effectiveness of penetration strategy
and effectiveness. Identify, and cultivate new markets
and product applications in conjunction with the Experience
Team, which includes Business Strategy & Development,
Marketing, R & D, etc. Expand current customer
relationships and sales assuring increases to grow
in revenue and strategic significance within key customers.
Contribute in a team fashion on special projects relating
to the overall growth of the Company. Rationalize
resource prioritization to meet/ exceed sales growth
objectives. Directs resource time, develops necessary
sales force automation tools, provides timely feedback,
directs budget administration efforts. Develops accurate/
realistic forecasts for new product development programs
throughout NPD life-cycle. Develops strategy for pricing
and margin objectives and assets to assure that the
revenue stream and EBITDA goals are realized.
