General
scope of work: This position will develop
models for production of sheet steel substrates. Enhance
the understanding of how they are produced. Will work
in coordination of internal analytical services, outside
laboratories, universities and other divisions. The
goal of the this engineer is to raise the understanding
of how they produce products not just getting production
goals. Further, see the long range results and profits
of new products that are being developed, taking into
consideration the return margins they will bring.
Will work with new ideas from Technical Service Reps
in developing, enacting, and evaluating testing internally
to develop that product. Continually networking with
Technical Service Reps, Mill Metallurgists, and Supervisors
for input and evaluation. Act as the internal consultant
by influencing through expertise, as opposed to formal
authority.
Education
requirements: MS or PHD in Metallurgy or Material
Science.
Skills
required: Must understand metal and how steel
is produced. Strong computer and modeling skills.
Capable of developing ideas and following up on all
ends into production.
