"It's human nature. When the economy contracts and 'business as usual' is disrupted, we become very tentative and withdraw from taking risks. 'Hunkering down' is no way to win a battle. As the economy is starting to speed up, now is the perfect time to gain ground on the competition and reposition your organization for the recovery."

Temporary Employment on the Rise By Kristi Morley, CPC
According to Sound Money (soundmoney.org), the number of temporary workers hired climbed for the second month in a row. That growth is considered a leading indicator of an improving employment picture.
Temporary Employment used to be thought of as something to fill the gap until a permanent position could be found. | Calling All Professionals!
There are more professional networking events at your fingertips.
In the past year, The Morley Group has offered periodic training programs at no charge to its clients and candidates. We have covered topics ranging from Employee Development to HIPAA. As a goal for the final months of 2003 and the year of 2004, The Morley Group aspires to hold one of these free training sessions once every other month. To pull this off, we need some assistance from our networking associates.
Currently, we are developing topics for these training seminars and assigning presenters for the topics. At this time, we have more topics than presenters. Anyone interested in spending a few hours in front of ten to twenty potential clients, employers, or employees is encouraged to respond. Perhaps there is a topic with which you have a certain expertise that is not on our current list. We'd love to review that topic and perhaps give you a forum to shine in front of your peers, colleagues, and potential employers.
If that person is you, please email me at: michaelm@themorleygroup.com Remember, consistent networking is the key to consistent success.

Feature Partner of the Month: McGovern Steel Fabricators
McGovern Steel Fabricators is a structural steel fabrication business located on Indy's east side at 2902 North Tobey Drive. The company founded by Brian McGovern in 1990 has seen consistent growth and has been an integral part of many of Indianapolis's building additions. In fact, McGovern fabricated the structural steel for The Morley Group building at 6201 Corporate Drive.
A few years ago, Brian McGovern decided that for his company to prosper he needed to separate McGovern Steel from all the multitudes of other fabricators. He chose gaining AISC (American Institute of Steel Construction) Quality Certification as that tool. Understanding the horror stories revolving around gaining such certification, Brian thought it necessary to partner with an outside consultant to assist in this process. That outside consultant was The Morley Group.
